Privé de son succès sur le tapis vert le 12 novembre sur l'hippodrome du Bouscat, Le Caporal découvre une très belle occasion de prendre une revanche éclatante. Ses rivaux les plus dangereux seront certainement Looping Mil, qui n'aura pas à rendre vingt-cinq mètres comme dernièrement à Saint-Brieuc, Largo d'Enfer, convaincant à Amiens lors de sa plus récente prestation à l'attelage, Lamsou San, idéalement situé sur la grille de départ après deux bonnes courses en Belgique, Leader de l'Aumoy, dont les deux dernières tentatives à droite se sont terminées sur le podium, Loriquet, pas déplaisant du tout le 5 décembre sur la cendrée parisienne, Louisis du Lupin, qui reste sur un probant succès à Toulouse.
