Lutin des Arris devra mieux gérer son effort devant le peloton s'il ne veut pas encore faire le boulot pour les autres. Lemon Curd s'affirme sans ses fers, et aura des ambitions justifiées pour la victoire, comme Lord Eagle, mis en mode course, Lobaye, qui aligne les succès comme les perles, et Leom du Tay, qu'il faudra impérativement racheter, car il vient de se louper à Saint-Malo alors qu'il semblait avoir les choses bien en mains. Confié à Pierre-Yves Verva ce soir, Lucius de Puch est un outsider valable, à l'image de Latino Castelets, qui sera mieux sur la distance, ainsi que Loup d'Ardennes, qui a désormais deux parcours dans les jambes et sera totalement déferré pour l'occasion.
